SPOVOX with other (non-Skype) IP telephony software

SPOVOX will be installed as an USB audio device in Windows. Therefore, you can use your SPOVOX as an audio device in practically all other telephony software. This way, you can use your ordinary soundcard for web radio or other audio applications.

If you don't use Skype, you can use a small utility named TJinit instead. TJinit is an universal driver that is compatible with most other telephony software. Download TJinit here:

Installation

1 Click on the link above to download TJinit.
2 Save the file to your hard drive, where it is easy to find.
3 Note: inactivate or uninstall IP Phone Center before installing TJinit. Uninstall previous versions of TjInit.
4 Double-click the downloaded file to start installation.
5 Follow the on-screen instructions (Just click Yes and Next...)

After the installation is completed, TJinit will be auto-started by Windows. You can also run the software from Windows start menu, or by double-clicking the icon on windows desktop. The status of TJinit can be monitored by the small TJ-icon in windows system tray.

There are no settings available for TJinit, but you can right-click the icon to exit the program (Exit), and you can check the version (About).
The icon is red/white when SPOVOX is connected, otherwise it is grey.


How to use SPOVOX and TJinit with other telephony software

Choose your USB audio device (SPOVOX) as preferred audio device for audio in and audio out in your software. In most programs, you can enter the phone number on the keypad, and pick up the phone to get receive calls.

Start up your telephony software and TJinit.
To get your telephony software in focus, lift the handset of the attached phone.
To make a call, enter the number on the keypad of the attached phone, followed by ##.
To end a call ,hang up the handset.
## is equivalent to Enter.
(Please note that these functions are not supported by all telephony software )
